The Beyond Art Therapy Color Meditation Self-Portrait is a very soothing way to get your clients / students to practice meditation. It is similar to the Color Meditation Technique above, and can be used as a meditation expansion.

Beyond Art Therapy Color meditation is a very powerful tool for the brain because we learn to think in colors and pictures before we think in words. 

As babies, color comes into our lives before the entire pictures focuses. The picture is seen as a blur of color at first as our eyes develop.

When you use colors in meditation you are able to access a deeper level of consciousness. These meditation colors can be accessed later on in the day when stress, or negative feelings surface.

Try this Color Meditation Self-Portrait Technique on yourself before you try this on your clients / students. You will be amazed at how this meditation technique truly works!

Directions for Beyond Art Therapy
Color Meditation
Self-Portrait Technique:

1. Ask your Beyond Art Therapy client / student to name some positive words that can be focused on in a meditation exercise. Make a list of these meditation words.

2. Once you have made a list of the meditation words start drawing some colors on the Mediation Frame Portrait Print Out below.

3. Add the meditation words to each color as a representation of the word used for meditation. The best way to do this is by writing the word over the meditation color with a marker.

Throughout the day ask your client / student to think of the color they used when they need to access the word written on the chosen colors of the Color Meditation Self-Portrait.

By just thinking about the color used with the Color Meditation Self-Portrait they will be able to calm themselves, or improve their mood.
