Play therapy game technique: Feelings Depicted on a Chess Board
This play therapy game technique assignment called for logging the feelings I experienced during a week's time. Naturally, my feelings were positive, as well as negative. For example, the myriad feelings I had included the negative: drained, annoyed,hurt, disgusted, sad, angry, shocked, frustrated, suspicious, disappointed, and confused. The positive feelings included: peaceful, relieved, excited, proud, hopeful, loving, confident, happy and determined.
On my play therapy game: Feelings Chess Board, I used miniatures that represented the positive and negative feelings.
In chess (and in life), one must strategize in order to succeed.
I did not allow my negative feelings to control my actions. By keeping my focus on the positive feelings, I was able to accomplish the tasks before me in this play therapy game technique.
