Jung Therapy Dark Parts of Self Sand Tray Therapy

Jung Therapy Dark Parts of Self Sand Tray Therapy

In this sand tray for sand tray therapy class I focused only on the aspect of anger itself. I chose my dragon again because in my hidden parts tray he was a representation of my dark side and difficulty controlling my temper at times.

I wanted to kind of imagine gaining control over my temper visually and turning my large dragon to a small flame. It would be unrealistic to think that I could eliminate any feelings of anger but I could try to make them a little quieter a little smaller. Flames called to me for some reason when it came to trying to represent anger. The next step down from my black dragon was a flame demon.

He was a little smaller, more colorful which could mean he was more exposed and less effort was spent to try to hide him. He is still scary and large so I had to find another step down from him. The middle step was Bowser from Mario, a large dragon-like turtle kind who can breathe flames.

I chose him because he is smaller and cuter but he still menacing and dangerous especially to Mario the hero of that video game. The next step down was Flame Princess from Adventure Time. This is a favorite cartoon of mine that is beautifully drawn and everything looks cute and bright and happy.

Flame Princess was seen as evil due to her fiery temper but the main character ends up falling in love with her and helping her to tame her temper. She still gets upset though and can be very dangerous, so I had to take my temper one more step down.

Lastly are little flames from Mario as well. They are cute and lighthearted and bounce up and down, but if you touch them it will burn and cause damage. I chose these because this is the state that I would like my temper to get to. Small flames that hurt a little but do not destroy or cause immense pain to anyone.
