Feelings in Chess Play Therapy to Use With Play Therapy Clients: Game 5

Here is another entry for the Play Therapy game section. This week I monitored my feeling and chose a few play therapy miniatures to represent them.

My feelings are normally pretty consistent throughout the week. However, I have recorded a few different emotions I experienced throughout the day dealing with customer and coworkers at my job.

Overall I am happy about my job- I chose the character “Piglet” miniature from Winnie and the Pooh. I would have chosen the character Tigger instead because he certainly represents a ball of energy; but I could not find him amongst my mountain of miniatures. I really enjoy my working with my coworkers and the environment is very relaxed and supportive.

I also chose the feelings like mighty, confident, determined, and enthusiastic. These feelings also stem from my excise at my job. I have been there for about a month and think I can easily say this is one of the top three of my favorite I have had in my car.

He is the miniature I use to represent me in the SandTray. I like batman because unlike other super heroes. He actually does not have any super powers. He uses his superior intellect, powers of observation, and deductive reasoning to solve mysteries and defeat his opponents.

That is much of what I do when I do my job. I work on a computer Helpdesk. It take patience, technological knowledge, and the ability to use deductive reasoning, what we call troubleshooting.

The other feelings for the play therapy technique I outlined, sorry/sad, relived, annoyed, drained, anxious, relived, frustrated often related to my customers or a computer problem. Sometimes I field sorry for a person that had a computer problem that might be no fault of their own but causes the user to be down for an extensive period of time. I only feel this way about the customers that are polite, patient, helpful, etc. Those other customers that are demanding, overbearing, rude, and uncooperative, I do the very minimum to resolve their issues.
