Transitional Objects for Sand Tray Therapy Class Student 4

This was the first sand tray for sand tray therapy I had done in class. I chose random figurines that drew me to them and I played around a little bit. I chose the mini Cinderella figure because she is always working but it seems like her work is never done. I also never have time to clean my house so I feel like Cinderella in that aspect as well. There is a giant hill in the corner and a tiny shovel in the hill. There is a spider and a giant fish behind Cinderella that are part way covered up. These figurines represent my anxiety and how they kind of creep up on me. There is a little leafy thing that is supposed to be a tree, with a shell beside it a little further in front of the Cinderella. The tree and the shell represent nature and how i have a love for nature and being outside. At the op of the hill are two clear stones and turtle next to a tree with a bird on top. The two clear stones represent relaxation and clarity, and the turtle reminded me of the beach and calm creatures at the beach. The trees at the top with the bird represent calmness and freedom. My little Cinderella figurine is trying very hard to reach that serenity and calmness but the anxiety tries to sneak up on her and get in the way of her journey up the hill. The big space behind the scene represents the unknown and undiscovered area of the future.
