The Tower Anger Management Activity

Use this anger management / art therapy activity with a client that is “blocked” and is having difficulty finding solutions to a problem.

It is okay to feel angry, but sometimes you need to lock your angry feelings in a tower and come back later to deal with them.

This fun "anger management" activity helps clients of all ages deal appropriately with their anger.

With this anger management / art therapy activity the client will create a “visual” of their problems being locked away in a tower and come up with solutions to solving these problems.

If the client is not ready to create a solution to the problem the client can still benefit by visualizing the problem locked away in the tower. This is a great way to manage anger management.


The client can become empowered by separating themselves from the problem that is locked away in the tower.

Materials for Anger Management Activity: Tower Worksheet Below Markers

Directions for Anger Management Activity:

  • 1. Ask the client to identify the number one problem they are facing and write it in the tower worksheet below. Process the problem with the client to make sure you and your client fully understand the problem at hand.
  • 2. Once the problem is identified ask the client to come up with creative and unique ways for solving the problem and using anger management. These can be written at the bottom of the worksheet.
  • 3. Process each solution with the client. Which solution could be brought into reality?What would it take for the client to make the solution a reality?Is the client ready to take the risk to make the solution happen? 
  • Or, does the anger management problem need to stay in the tower for now?*Make sure to keep this worksheet in a locked file cabinet for the client.
  • Of course ask the client for their permission first.This also lets the client know that the "anger issues" are locked away and they can access them when they return for therapy.
  • The Tower Anger Management Worksheet Print out "The Tower" worksheet below to allow clients to process their angry feelings and lock them in the tower. Recommended to print in color.
