Play Therapy Mandala Example 6

The themes that are consistent in my play therapy mandala are music and flowers. I also noticed that I chose to use yellow paper for my background.

I noticed that I am drawn to music and natural beauty. The bright color yellow makes me feel hopeful. I notice that when I am having a challenging day, being outside in the sun for a few minutes brightens my countenance for hours.

Music is a very important part of my life. My husband is a musician and all of my children play a musical instrument.

As I reflect on the role that music has played in my life, I see that I have had a long history with music since I was a child.

When I was 3 years old my mom took me to the first live concert I ever attended. When she would describe that time to me, she shares that I was so happy and uninhibited even though there were many adults at the concert.

At the age of 4, I played the piano without ever having a single lesson. I have always used music to express my emotions. Classical music calms me and helps me concentrate when I am working major projects that require plenty of analysis and interpretation.

I also find myself drawn to flowers and nature. The simplicity of the flowers I chose is significant.

I don’t like floral arrangements that are too busy and I find I am put off by such things. However, a few roses or a single tulip attract my attention.

As I compare that to other aspects of my life, I find that to be a consistent theme. I am drawn to simplicity in tasks, work, and relationships. When things are intentionally made complicated or hidden due to an ulterior motive,

I find my defenses and level of anxiety rising.

Looking at the big picture, I see the thing that I am drawn to and the need to be aware to keep them around me. As I look around my office, I see these same themes.

I have 2 floral arrangements made of roses and the remainder of my décor is simple, calming art work with modest greenery.
