Play Therapy Mandala Example: The Rules

This is my Mom's Rule Play Therapy Mandala. I really could not think of how I would create this when Dr.S initially made the play therapy mandala assignment. However, immediately after class ended, I got a phone call from one of my son's informing me that "something" was wrong with his hand.
While I am used to the bumps and bruises associated with raising children, I was planning to leave from class to Panama City. Of course plans changed as it turned out he had actually brokn two fingers in his hand. This is when it occured to me the many people I have to be in order to raise my children.

The rulers of this play therapy mandala represent the many "rules" I have to have in place to keep them from getting too far out of line. I went with twelve rulers to represent the fact that there are never enough hours in the day to keep up with the demands of motherhood. And to also represent the twelve different people I have become:
mother- full-time job
hard-worker- ELA teacher
best friend- same two best friends since 3rd grade
avid reader- model reader for kids/students
cook- cooking is my passion
adventure taker- learning to make time for me
sun bather- love for the outdoors
kid at heart- love to play
princess- learning to love myself flaws and all
work in progress- recently divorce/learning to love
stand in dad- single parenthood is HARD
lover- slowly learning to allow others to love me and celebrating finding the true Love of my Life!
